# Glossary

> A reference guide to important terms and concepts used throughout Dexari

## Account

A user profile on Dexari that allows access to platform features, including wallets, trading, and rewards.

## Affiliate

A user who partners with Dexari to promote the platform and earn higher commissions and exclusive rewards by referring new users and traders.

## Beta

A pre-release phase where selected users test new features and provide feedback before public launch.

## Blockchain

A decentralized, digital ledger that records transactions across many computers in a way that prevents alteration.

## Custodial wallet

A wallet where a third party holds and manages your private keys and assets on your behalf. Dexari is a self-custodial platform.

## Decentralized exchange (DEX)

A platform that allows users to trade cryptocurrencies directly with each other without relying on a central authority.

## Dexari Points

Exclusive incentives for early Dexari users, earned by participating in the community and using the app.

## Digital asset

A broad term for any asset that exists in digital form, including cryptocurrencies, tokens, and NFTs.

## Early Access

A period when select users could try new features or programs before they became available to the public.

## Fee discount

A reduction in trading fees, often provided as a reward for referrals, affiliate activity, or as a new user benefit.

## Gas fee

A transaction fee paid to process and validate operations on a blockchain network, such as Ethereum.

## Hyperliquid

A decentralized trading platform and blockchain ecosystem that Dexari integrates with for its trading product.

## KYC (know your customer)

A verification process required by financial platforms to confirm the identity of users, often involving personal documents.

## Liquidation

The process of closing a trader's position when their account balance falls below the required margin level.

## Liquidity

The ease with which an asset can be quickly bought or sold without affecting its price.

## Limit order

An order to buy or sell an asset at a specific price or better. The order will only execute if the market reaches the specified price.

## Market order

An order to buy or sell an asset immediately at the best available price.

## NFT (non-fungible token)

A unique digital asset that represents ownership of a specific item, artwork, or collectible, and cannot be exchanged on a one-to-one basis with other tokens.

## Non-custodial wallet

A wallet where you control your private keys and assets. Dexari provides a non-custodial wallet, meaning only you have access to your funds.

## Order book

A real-time list of buy and sell orders for a specific asset on a trading platform.

## Passkey

A secure, passwordless authentication method that uses cryptographic keys, often tied to your device or biometrics.

## Perpetual futures (perps)

A type of derivative contract that allows traders to speculate on the price of an asset without an expiration date.

## Private key

A secret code that allows you to access and control your digital assets. Keep your private key secure and never share it.

## Public key

A cryptographic code that allows others to send assets to your wallet address.

## Referral code

A unique code that users can share to invite friends to Dexari. Codes can only be set once and cannot be changed.

## Secure enclave

A hardware-based security feature used by Turnkey and Dexari to protect private keys and sensitive operations.

## Self-custody

A model where users control their own private keys and assets, rather than relying on a third party.

## Slippage

The difference between the expected price of a trade and the actual price at which it is executed, often due to market volatility or low liquidity.

## Stop limit order

An order that becomes a limit order once a specified stop price is reached. The order will only execute at the specified limit price or better.

## Stop market order

An order that becomes a market order once a specified stop price is reached, executing immediately at the best available price.

## Staking

Locking up digital assets to support the operations of a blockchain network, often in exchange for rewards.

## Stablecoin

A type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a stable value, often pegged to a fiat currency like the US dollar (e.g., USDC, USDT).

## Task

An activity or challenge that users can complete to earn Dexari Points. Tasks may be social, on-chain, or event-based.

## Turnkey

A secure, non-custodial wallet infrastructure provider used by Dexari for key management and authentication.

## TWAP order (Time-Weighted Average Price)

An algorithmic order that executes over a set period, aiming to achieve an average price close to the market’s time-weighted average during that interval.

## Two-factor authentication (2FA)

An extra layer of security requiring two forms of verification before granting access to an account.

## Web3

A new generation of internet applications that use decentralized networks, such as blockchains, to give users more control over their data and assets.
